About the role

LAUNCHPAD embeds senior product engineers into growth-stage company squads — Series B through pre-IPO, plus founder-friendly engagements at the seed stage. We staff engineers who can challenge a roadmap decision in standup, ship full-stack, and run velocity curves that bend up over a quarter rather than a sprint.

You'll work inside the customer's engineering culture, ship through their repos and CI, and be accountable to their release gates. Department backing through LAUNCHPAD lead office hours; CANVAS designer embedded in the squad; CORTEX or NEXUS specialists pulled in when the engagement needs them.

What you’ll do

Embed in a growth-stage product engineering squad — discovery, design, build, deploy, operate
Ship full-stack: web, API, data — opinionated about architecture, evidence-based about decisions
Co-design roadmap with product / engineering leadership; surface trade-offs in writing
Mentor in-house engineers through code review, architecture review, and pairing
Maintain LAUNCHPAD's product-engineering memo template and playbook contributions

What we look for

7+ years of full-stack product engineering with at least one product shipped 0→1 and 1→scale
Strong opinions about product engineering — when to ship fast, when to invest in substrate
Deep experience with a modern stack: TypeScript / Next.js / React + Postgres / Redis + cloud
Track record of working inside customer engineering cultures (consulting, agency, embedded contracts)
Comfortable challenging roadmap decisions in writing without becoming the team's antagonist

Nice to have

Founding engineer or early-stage CTO experience
AI feature integration (Vercel AI SDK, RAG, agentic workflows in product)
Mobile (React Native) or design-systems engineering experience
